Strengthening Community Action: SCCPS and A4HPV Unite for Cervical Cancer Prevention

The Singapore Cancer Society’s Cervical Cancer Prevention and Screening (SCCPS) and the Alliance for Active Action Against HPV (A4HPV) have come together to strengthen community efforts in cervical cancer prevention.
As part of this collaboration, Dr Yvonne Wong from SCCPS spoke at a volunteer training session to help A4HPV volunteers deepen their understanding of human papillomavirus (HPV), its link to cervical and other cancers, and how early detection through regular screening can save lives.
The interactive session included role-playing exercises to equip volunteers with practical skills to address common questions and concerns from women in the community. By building volunteers’ confidence and communication skills, the training aims to reduce hesitation around screening and encourage more women to take up the self-sampling HPV test.
Through this partnership, SCCPS and A4HPV continue their shared mission to make cervical cancer screening accessible, approachable, and one less worry for all women in Singapore.
