SCCPS Members Honoured
in IGCS 2026 Awards

This year, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) has recognised two members of SCCPS, both ex-presidents, who have contributed vastly to cervical cancer prevention at a global level.

Dr Quek Swee Chong has been honoured with the Global Humanitarian Award in recognition of his work contributions to colposcopy training through the International Agency for Research on Cancer, World Health Organization and his leadership of the Himalayan Women’s Health Project. Since 2010, this project has delivered humanitarian screening and treatment focused on reducing cervical cancer in Ladakh, India.

Dr Joseph Ng has been conferred the Excellence in Teaching Award. A key figure in the formative years of the now established IGCS Global Oncology Fellowship, he has played major role in mentoring gynaecologic oncology programmes across the region in Thailand and Vietnam and fostering international collaboration in education and research.
