As you are aware, the Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology of Singapore (SCCPS) has been involved with the establishment of a Register for Colposcopists. This is solely for the purposes of the Health Promotion Board’s CervicalScreen Programme, to establish a list of colposcopists who wish to be involved with this screening programme.

Although many of you have already registered, there has been some concern regarding the number of cases required to be seen for maintenance on the register, as well as the maintenance fees proposed.

You will be receiving along with this letter an amended set of criteria which takes into account some of these concerns. This came about as a result of your feedback and was agreed by the council after a meeting between the SCCPS, Health Promotion Board and OGSS.

I hope that this goes some way towards addressing your concerns and that as many of you as possible will apply for registration. This will have a direct impact on the success of our nation’s screening programme.

Yours sincerely

Dr Quek Swee Chong
President
